My wife died in late 2011 and sometimes I get blindsided by memories of what seems like a former life -- our life together. It’s seriously bittersweet and surreal in a way that is both painful and pleasing. I look at these feelings and memories and sometimes wonder who that guy was that was married and had a life with this woman, my wife. But it was me and those memories are now locked in time -- Anne Lamott says grief is like a lazy susan, you never know how it will spin around and affect you on a particular day or night.
